An Everett garage with hex lighting, white cabinets and steel posts got the last piece: a Tidal Wave flake polyurea floor, installed in one day.
Some garages get the full treatment. This one in Everett sits behind a brick arch, and by the time we arrived it already had hexagon LED panels on the ceiling, tall white storage cabinets along one wall, a second bank of cabinets at the back and grey-wrapped steel posts running down the middle. The only thing left was the floor, and it was still plain, stained concrete.
The homeowner wanted the floor to finish the look. In October 2025 our crew installed a garage floor coating in Everett using Certified Penntek polyurea in Tidal Wave flake. One day of work, and the garage finally looked as good underfoot as it did overhead.
We came out in early October 2025. The slab had a few spots and stains, a chipped edge at the garage door where the driveway meets the slab, and some fine surface cracking near the posts.
The scratch test tells us how hard the concrete is, which decides how the crew sets up the grinder. Soft, weathered edges like that one need careful prep so the coating has solid concrete to bond to.
Installation day was in mid October 2025. The space had plenty of obstacles: a staircase up into the house, a furnace platform, a water heater corner and several structural posts.
The coating runs right up to the posts, under the edge of the cabinets and into the utility nooks, so there's no bare concrete showing anywhere.
Tidal Wave Evolution is a cool blend of white, light grey, charcoal and a touch of blue. Under bright white hex lights it reads clean and crisp, and it matches the white cabinet doors and grey trim without fighting the black hardware.
A busy flake also hides real life. Gravel tracked in from the driveway, dust from the stairs and drips from a wet car all blend in until you get around to sweeping.
Everett winters are long and wet, with cold snaps that push concrete through freeze-thaw. Typical epoxy is rigid. When the slab moves, the coating cracks or lets go, often within 3–5 years. The Penntek basecoat is flexible and moves with the concrete.
The bond is chemical, using a silane adhesion promoter, with over 1,300 PSI of strength. Before the coating comes up, the concrete will come up.
