A paint-splattered, cracked 374 sq ft North Bend garage, ground and coated in Domino flake Penntek polyurea in one November day.
Some garages have been a workshop for years before anyone thinks about the floor. This North Bend slab had the evidence. Splashes of red and yellow paint, spray marks, scuffs from equipment and a long crack running across the middle. The room itself was in good shape, with grey walls, a water heater in the corner and two steel posts holding up the beam.
The homeowner wanted all of that covered for good. In late November 2025 our crew installed a garage floor coating in North Bend using Certified Penntek polyurea in Domino flake. 374 square feet, installed in one day with the air at 43°F.
We did the free consultation at the end of October 2025. The meter read 4.4% on the open slab and 3.1% in a second spot under a rubber mat. We test every floor at the consult, because what's going on inside the concrete matters more than what's on top of it.
On top was a lot. The paint splatter would have shown through any thin coating, and the crack was the kind that keeps moving a little through each winter. The condition was logged as OK. Sound concrete, rough surface.

Domino Evolution is a bold black, grey and white blend. Up close it looks almost like terrazzo. From the door it reads as a lighter grey speckle that brightens a room with darker walls. High contrast flake is very good at hiding things, and after years of paint drips, that was the point.
Crack repair alone isn't enough. If the coating over it is rigid, like typical epoxy, the slab moves and the coating cracks right along the old line. The Penntek basecoat is flexible and moves with the concrete through freeze-thaw. Watch the Penntek Stretch Test to see the difference.

North Bend gets real winter. Snow comes down off Mount Si and the pass, and cars carry sand, slush and salt into the garage for months. That's hard on bare concrete and harder on brittle coatings. A flexible basecoat and a non-porous topcoat were built for this.

We don't coat over them. We grind them off. Diamond grinding removes paint, old sealers and the weak top layer of concrete so the polyurea can bond to clean, sound slab.
We fill cracks with Penntek Mender before coating. The flexible basecoat moves with small slab movement, so the repair stays covered instead of telegraphing through like it often does under rigid coatings.
