Aqua-Tots in Lynnwood got blue flake Certified Penntek polyurea floors in its lobby, hallways and changing areas, phased around the build-out.

A swim school floor gets wet all day. Kids in dripping suits, parents walking in from the rain, towels, bags and strollers crossing the lobby every few minutes. When Aqua-Tots built out its Lynnwood location, the floors had to handle all of that and still look bright and clean for families.
Cascade coated the space with Certified Penntek polyurea and a blue and grey flake blend that matches the brand's navy and white. The work ran from late 2024 into spring 2025, scheduled around the rest of the build-out. It covers the lobby and pool viewing area, the front desk, hallways, the changing area and back-of-house rooms. It is a commercial concrete coating in Lynnwood built for constant water and foot traffic.
At the first walk-through in October 2024 the space was raw. Bare slab, open ceilings, ladders, and trenches cut in the floor for plumbing. The concrete was dusty and patched in spots, with the usual marks a commercial slab picks up during construction.
Commercial jobs like this don't happen in one day, and they shouldn't. The floor has to wait for the right trades to finish in each area, and some rooms are not ready until weeks after others.
Each area got the same Penntek build. Pure polyurea basecoat, over 99% solids. Full flake broadcast. Polyaspartic topcoat with FadeLock™ UV stability.
The biggest risk on a commercial slab is a coating that lets go. Penntek's basecoat bonds chemically with the concrete, helped by a silane adhesion promoter, at over 1,300 PSI. Before the coating comes up, the concrete will come up. It is also flexible, so it handles slab movement without cracking.
The polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous. Water, dirt and spills stay on the surface, so the floor mops clean after closing. The Penntek Stain Test shows how it handles spills. The full flake broadcast adds texture under the topcoat, and the coating runs up the walls in wet rooms so there is no open joint at the base. Our post on commercial vs residential coatings explains what changes for a business.
The blue, grey and white flake was picked to sit with the navy stall doors, white walls and bright brand graphics. It reads as clean and cheerful, and the busy pattern hides wet footprints between mop passes. See the range of blends and solids on our colors page.
Lynnwood businesses deal with the same long rainy season as everyone in south Snohomish County. Every customer who walks in brings water with them. A sealed, non-porous floor makes that a cleanup job instead of a maintenance problem. Yes. We coat in phases as each area is ready, and work around other trades. Areas that are not ready yet get scheduled for a later visit.
Yes. In changing rooms and other wet spaces the coating can be carried up the wall a few inches, so there is no seam at the floor line for water to get into.
The polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous, so most spills and dirt come up with a mop. The flake pattern also hides footprints between cleanings.
