Old gray floor paint was flaking off this Woodinville garage. Cascade ground it away and installed Mount Everest flake polyurea in one day in December 2025.
Somebody had rolled gray paint over this Woodinville garage floor years ago. It looked fine for a while. Then it started letting go. By the time Cascade came out, the paint was lifting in sheets near the walls and scuffing off wherever tires turned. The owner wanted a floor that would stay put and make the room feel brighter in the dark months.
In December 2025 the crew ground off every bit of that paint and installed a garage floor coating in Woodinville with Certified Penntek polyurea in Mount Everest flake. One day. The room went from patchy gray to clean and light.

The room itself is a wide single space with a support post in the middle, white board walls and shelving along one side. Simple layout, lots of open floor.
Floor paint and most DIY kits sit on top of the concrete. They grab the surface, not the slab. Add hot tires, water dripping off the car and a few wet winters, and the bond gives up. A Penntek floor works differently. The pure polyurea basecoat, over 99% solids, forms a chemical bond with the concrete with help from a silane adhesion promoter. Bond strength is over 1,300 PSI. Before the coating comes up, the concrete will come up. You can watch the Penntek Hammer Test to see what that looks like.

Mount Everest Evolution is a light mix of white, gray and soft tan chips. In a garage with one small window and white walls, it bounces the ceiling light around instead of soaking it up. The speckle also hides the dust and grit that a solid light floor would show.

No. Paint is the weak link, so it has to go. Cascade diamond grinds the floor down to clean, open concrete and then bonds the polyurea to the slab itself.
Paint only grips the top of the concrete. Hot tires, moisture from below and water from cars break that grip over time. It is the most common failure we see in older garages.
Less than you might think. The mix of chip colors breaks up dust and tire marks, and the polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous, so a broom and a damp mop get it clean.
