New cabinets, slatwall and a stair, then the floor. This Issaquah garage got Husky hybrid terrazzo flake over Certified Penntek polyurea in summer 2025.

This Issaquah garage was being built out properly. A long run of grey storage cabinets with a butcher-block top. Slatwall on the walls. A short stair up into the house. The last piece was the floor, and the homeowner wanted something with more character than a basic grey flake. They picked Husky, a hybrid terrazzo-style flake with bigger, bolder chips.
Over the summer of 2025 our crew installed a garage floor coating in Issaquah with Certified Penntek polyurea in Husky hybrid flake. The finished floor ties the cabinets, the stairs and the river-rock edge outside the door together.
When we started in June 2025, the cabinets and walls were wrapped in plastic and taped off so grinding dust stayed out. The work happened across two visits, one in mid-June and one at the end of July, with the final floor going down around the finished cabinets. Doing a floor during a remodel takes a bit of coordination with the other trades. That is normal, and we plan for it.
The coating runs right under the cabinet toe kicks and up to the bottom stair, so there are no bare edges anywhere you can see.
Husky is part of the Hybrid Terrazzo Flake System. The chips are larger and more varied than a standard flake, in charcoal, grey, white and tan. On a big open floor it reads almost like polished stone. Next to grey cabinets and white slatwall it looks finished and a little upscale, without being flashy.
Big chips also hide a lot. Dust, dried rain spots and the odd pebble from the rock border outside blend into the pattern. If you are weighing options, our post on Penntek colors and finishes walks through the systems.
When you put real money into cabinets and storage, the floor under them has to last. Pulling cabinets to redo a failed floor is a headache nobody wants. That is the case for Certified Penntek polyurea over typical epoxy.

Issaquah homes often sit on wooded, hilly lots where garages stay cool and damp, and cars come home wet off I-90. A sealed floor keeps that water on the surface. If you are planning cabinets or slatwall, it pays to do the floor at the same time. Our garage design ideas post has more on planning a full build-out.

Either can work. Coating first gives you a continuous floor under everything. Coating after works too, and we mask the cabinets and coat up to the toe kicks. We talk through your timing at the consultation.
It is a flake system with larger, more varied chips than standard flake. The result looks more like terrazzo or natural stone while keeping the same polyurea base and polyaspartic topcoat.
Yes, when the schedule calls for it, like during a remodel. We plan the visits so each step goes down on properly prepped concrete.
