A big Monroe garage building with steel posts and a stained, blotchy slab got Mender repair and 1,003 sq ft of Tidal Wave flake Penntek polyurea in August 2026.

Out past the edge of town, on a gravel drive among the trees, this Monroe property has a big garage building. Over 1,000 square feet of open floor, with steel posts holding up the roof, two overhead doors, windows and a ductless heat pump on the wall. It is the kind of space that can be a shop, a hangout and a place to park all at once. The concrete was the weak link. Dark, blotchy, stained and rough in spots.
In August 2026 our crew installed a garage floor coating in Monroe with Certified Penntek polyurea in Tidal Wave flake across 1,003 square feet. The building now has a bright, even floor that matches how much the owners use it.
Our free consultation happened in June 2026. We scratch-tested the surface and took moisture readings across the floor, which came in at 3.8% and 3.3% in the spots we photographed. The concrete was dark and uneven in color, with stains, rough patches and wear around the posts.
On install day the Penntek warranty job card recorded:
A floor this size gets scheduled across more than one day. Here is what went into it in August:
The coating wraps tight around the base of each steel post so the floor reads as one surface. Our installation process page shows each step.
Tidal Wave Evolution blends blue-grey, white and charcoal chips. In a big room with white walls and lots of daylight from two open doors, it reads as a light, clean grey. It hides gravel dust tracked in from the drive and the drips that come with a working garage.
A building like this sees tools dropped, equipment rolled across it and cars parked with wet, gravel-packed tires. The floor needs to hold on and stay clean.
See it tested in the Penntek Hammer Test, and read how long garage floor coatings last in the Pacific Northwest.
Monroe sits in the Skykomish River valley at the start of the road up to Stevens Pass. Properties out here tend to be bigger, with detached garages and shops on gravel drives. That means more mud, more grit and a lot of rain. A sealed floor keeps it all on the surface where a broom or hose takes care of it.
See our page on garage floor coatings in Monroe, and if you're new to the area the City of Monroe site is a good place to start.
Yes. Big floors take more grinding and more material, and they are usually scheduled over more than one day. The system and the warranty are the same.
Yes. Spalls and cracks are ground clean and filled with Penntek Mender before the basecoat goes down, so the finished floor is smooth and even.
If you use the space, yes. A sealed floor is easier to clean, hides wear and protects the concrete from water and fluids soaking in.
