A huge multi-bay garage in Kent with cracks, oil stains and worn painted parking lines, coated in a blue, white and black flake polyurea blend in December 2024.

This is not a two-car garage. The space in Kent stretches across several bays, with multiple roll-up doors, a long wall of cabinets and pegboard, a TV, a card table and room for cars, tools and a lot more. The concrete had seen years of all of it. Oil stains, a few long cracks, and white parking lines painted right on the slab, now chipped and scuffed.
In December 2024 Cascade installed a garage floor coating in Kent with Certified Penntek polyurea, using a blue, white and black flake blend. The old painted lines are gone, and a single crisp blue guide stripe now runs across the finished floor.
The free consultation was in November 2024. The crew walked the whole space and noted:
A space this size is a multi-day job, and this one ran across several days in mid-December 2024.
The crew measured the old lines before grinding them off.
The flake on this job is a blend labeled Denim and Orbit in our job records, a mix of navy and royal blue with white, gray and black chips. Over a big floor it reads as a cool blue-gray from a distance and shows its color up close. It hides tire marks and shop dust well, and the blue stripe ties right into the chips. Paint on bare concrete wears where tires turn and peels when moisture pushes up from below. The same goes for many typical epoxy floors, which often start to show problems in years 3–5. Our post comparing epoxy and polyurea in a Seattle-area garage covers the differences.
A Penntek floor bonds chemically with the concrete at over 1,300 PSI. Its flexible basecoat moves with cracks and seasonal slab movement instead of splitting. The Penntek Stretch Test shows that flexibility. The topcoat is non-porous and resists hot tire pickup, so oil and grease wipe off. It is built for up to 5x the lifespan of typical epoxy, backed by a limited lifetime warranty from Penntek.
Kent sits in the Green River valley in south King County, with plenty of rain from fall to spring. Wet tires, tracked-in grit and heavy use are a given. A sealed, bonded floor makes those spaces easier to keep clean and nicer to spend time in. See our page on garage floor coatings in Kent, or read about multi-car garage design ideas.
Yes. Large garages and shops get the same process as a small garage, just over more days. On this job the work ran across several days in December 2024.
They get ground off with the rest of the surface so the polyurea can bond to bare concrete. New lines can be added on top of the finished floor, like the blue stripe here.
A blended flake hides dust, tire marks and small spills better than a solid color. The topcoat is non-porous, so cleanup is a broom and a mop.
