A stained two-car Cle Elum garage and a faded front walkway were coated in matching Silver Creek flake Certified Penntek polyurea, 629 sq ft in one day.

Cle Elum sits on the east side of Snoqualmie Pass, where winters bring real snow, hard freezes and trucks coming home caked in road grime. This Cle Elum homeowner had a big two-car garage with oil and tire stains across bare concrete, plus a front walkway leading from the driveway to the porch steps that had faded to a dusty tan.
In October 2024 our crew drove over the pass and installed a garage and walkway coating in Cle Elum: 629 square feet of Certified Penntek polyurea in Silver Creek flake, plus 30 feet of coated vertical edge. Both surfaces now match and shrug off whatever winter tracks in.
We did the free consultation at the start of October 2024. The meter read 4.3% and 4.5% at two spots in the garage. The concrete was in OK condition overall. Dark tire paths, scattered stains and a few cracks along the control joints, but nothing structural.
The walkway had the opposite problem. It was clean but bleached and porous, the kind of surface that soaks up meltwater and then freezes. Outdoor concrete on this side of the mountains goes through a lot of freeze-thaw cycles every winter.
Install day was October 10, 2024, with the air at 62°F. Getting it all done on a single trip over the pass mattered, so the crew handled the garage and walkway the same day.
The walkway coating stops cleanly at the asphalt driveway and at the base of the wood porch steps.
Silver Creek Evolution is a cool gray blend with black, white and silver-gray chips. Inside, under shop lights, it looks crisp and hides tire marks and dust. Outside on the walkway, it reads lighter and ties into the gray stone and wood of the house front.
The walkway gets full sun, which is where the topcoat earns its keep. Typical epoxy ambers in UV. FadeLock™ passed a 16-hour QUV accelerated UV test, and the flake is UV stable, so both surfaces should keep matching for years.
Snow, slush and de-icer are tough on concrete and tougher on rigid coatings. Typical epoxy is brittle and does not like slab movement, which is why it so often fails in years 3–5. The Penntek basecoat is flexible and moves with the slab through freeze-thaw, as the Penntek Stretch Test shows.
The polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous, so salt, mud and oil stay on the surface and hose out the door. And the bond is over 1,300 PSI. Before the coating comes up, the concrete will come up. Our post on how long garage floor coatings last in the Pacific Northwest covers what climate does to a floor.
Cle Elum garages hold snow tires, ATVs, firewood and trucks that spend winter on I-90. That means more salt and grit than most Seattle-area garages ever see. A coated floor turns cleanup into a quick sweep and rinse. If you are new to town, the City of Cle Elum site has local info.
Our crews are based on the west side, and the closest service page to Cle Elum is our Issaquah garage floor coatings page, right on the I-90 corridor. You can also see our walkway floor coating projects.
Yes. This garage and walkway were done on a single trip in October 2024. We plan the schedule around the drive and the weather.
The polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous and built to resist salt, oil and gas. Salt sits on top and rinses off instead of soaking into the concrete.
Yes. Using the same flake on both, as with Silver Creek here, gives the front of the house one finished look. The UV-stable topcoat keeps the outdoor section from yellowing.
