A new Leavenworth garage with knotty pine trim got a Mount Everest flake Penntek polyurea floor in August 2024, built for snow, de-icer and freeze-thaw.

Cedar siding outside. Knotty pine doors and trim inside. Two dark garage doors facing a fresh concrete apron and a forest of pines. This new home in Leavenworth was built with care, and the owners wanted the garage floor to match the rest of the house before the space filled up with cars, skis and gear.
In August 2024 our crew made the trip over Stevens Pass and installed a garage floor coating in Leavenworth with Certified Penntek polyurea in Mount Everest flake. The bare new slab is now a bright, sealed floor that will take mountain winters in stride.
Brand-new slabs can hold a lot of water from the pour. So even on a new build, we test. At the free consultation in early August 2024 the moisture meter read 2.4%, 3.2% and 2.3% in three spots. The concrete was hard and clean, with a few marks from construction, drywall dust and tape lines.
New concrete also tends to have a smooth, dense surface from the finishing trowel. Nothing bonds well to that, which is why grinding matters even when the floor looks perfect.
For a job this far from our Woodinville base, the work ran across August 27 and 28, 2024:
The floor drain and the area under the wall-mounted water heater and plumbing were coated cleanly, so the utility corner looks as finished as the rest.
Mount Everest Evolution is a light blend of whites, greys and soft tan chips. Against warm knotty pine trim and cream walls it feels natural, a little like river stone. It keeps the garage bright, and it hides the dust, pine needles and dried snowmelt that come with mountain living.
Leavenworth winters bring real snow and real cold. Cars come in packed with slush and road de-icer. Slabs freeze and thaw again and again. That is hard on any coating.
Watch the Penntek Stretch Test to see the flex, browse more tests on our demo page, and read our post on preventing hot tire pickup, since warm tires after a long drive over the pass are tough on weak coatings.
Leavenworth sits on the east side of the Cascades along the Wenatchee River, known for its Bavarian-style village. If you are building there, the City of Leavenworth site is a good place to start. Most of our work is around Seattle, the Eastside and Snohomish County, but for the right project we make the drive. Learn about our garage floor coatings around Seattle to see where we usually work.
The floor carries a limited lifetime warranty backed by Penntek. Penntek has dealers in 200 markets, so a floor in the mountains can still be serviced long term.
It depends on how the slab has cured and what the moisture meter says. We test at the consultation. This Leavenworth slab read 2.3% to 3.2% before we coated it.
De-icer and salt sit on the non-porous topcoat instead of soaking into the concrete. Rinse or mop it off through the winter and the floor stays clean.
Our home base is Woodinville, and most jobs are around Greater Seattle, the Eastside and Snohomish County. Call us about projects farther out and we will tell you what is possible.
