Every Closet and Nook Counted in This Enumclaw Silver Creek Garage

An Enumclaw garage with rust drips, a safe closet and a pantry nook got Silver Creek flake polyurea on every inch of concrete in August 2024.

Silver Creek flake polyurea garage floor toward the house door in Enumclaw

Most garage floor quotes stop at the parking area. This Enumclaw homeowner wanted every bit of concrete covered. The main garage, the closet where the safe lives, the storage nook under the pantry shelves and the step up to the house door. On the day of the consult the garage held an SUV, a motorcycle and the usual piles of boxes and gear, and the slab showed it.

In August 2024 Cascade's crew put down a garage floor coating in Enumclaw with Certified Penntek polyurea in Silver Creek flake. Every nook got the same finish, so the floor reads as one surface from the garage door to the back of the closets.

Rust drips, oil and a moisture check

The free consultation was in early August 2024. The moisture meter read 4.7%. The surface had orange rust drips, dark oil spots under the parking spots, and a general grey wear pattern where the cars and motorcycle came and went. The closets and the pantry nook were bare concrete too, dusty from years of storage.

Rust and oil stains look bad but they are mostly a surface problem. Industrial diamond grinding cuts them back, and full flake coverage hides what's left.

The install, nook by nook

  1. Clear the garage, the safe closet and the pantry nook.
  2. Diamond grind the main floor, the closets and the step, then vacuum.
  3. Pure polyurea basecoat, over 99% solids, chemically bonded to the slab.
  4. Full broadcast of Silver Creek flake, including the step at the house door.
  5. Scrape and collect the loose flake.
  6. Polyaspartic topcoat with FadeLock™ UV stability.

Small spaces take more hand work than the open floor. The crew coated right to the closet walls, around the safe's footprint and under the low pantry shelf, then trimmed the edges at each threshold.

Silver Creek in a bright garage

Silver Creek Evolution is a mixed grey and white blend with a touch of warmth. In this garage, with cream walls and white trim, it looks clean without going stark. The mixed chips also hide the gravel dust and dry grass that come in on tires and boots in a rural area.

Why polyurea instead of typical epoxy

People search for an epoxy garage floor, and what we install is Certified Penntek polyurea. Epoxy is rigid. When the slab moves through cold winters and warm summers it can crack or lift, and problems often start in years 3–5. The Penntek basecoat is flexible and moves with the slab, with bond strength over 1,300 PSI.

The polyaspartic topcoat is non-porous and resists hot tire pickup, so the motorcycle and SUV can park on it without lifting the coating. See it in the Penntek Stain Test, and read Penntek vs epoxy for your garage for a side by side.

Garage floors on the Enumclaw Plateau

Enumclaw sits on a plateau below Mount Rainier, with farm roads, gravel driveways and the highway up toward Chinook Pass. Garages here take in dust in summer and mud in winter, and cold snaps hit harder than in the lowlands. A flexible, sealed floor fits that life well.

We cover the South King County area from our base in Woodinville. See our garage floor coatings in nearby Kent, or browse more jobs in our portfolio. If you're new to town, the City of Enumclaw website is a good local resource.

Enumclaw garage FAQ

Can you coat closets and small storage nooks in the garage?

Yes. Closets, pantry nooks and steps get the same grind, basecoat, flake and topcoat as the main floor. It makes the whole garage match and easier to clean.

Will rust stains show through a new coating?

Diamond grinding removes most rust staining from the surface. Full flake coverage and the basecoat hide the rest, so the finished floor looks even.

Can a motorcycle kickstand damage the floor?

The polyaspartic topcoat is hard and holds up well to daily use. For heavy bikes, a small kickstand pad spreads the load and is a good habit on any floor.
