This Woodinville home had two garage spaces with plain, stained concrete. Cascade coated both in Domino flake polyurea in October 2024, with flake run up the stem walls.

One garage is a project. Two is a plan. This Woodinville homeowner had a pair of garage spaces under the same roof, both with gray concrete that had picked up oil spots, tire marks and dark patches over the years. Overhead storage racks were already up. The tankless water heater and the gas lines were on the wall. All that was missing was a floor that looked as put-together as the rest.
In October 2024 Cascade coated both spaces with Certified Penntek polyurea in Domino flake, a garage floor coating in Woodinville that ties the two rooms together with one look.
The free consultation was in September 2024. The crew walked both spaces and tested the slab.
Nothing scary. Just a slab that had been parked on for years and never sealed.
The spaces were done on separate days in October 2024, so the owner never had to empty the whole house of cars and gear at once. Each one got the same treatment:
Each space was coated in a single day.
The detail people notice first in these photos is the edge. Instead of stopping at the corner, the Domino flake climbs the stem wall a few inches. That hides the line where floor meets wall, covers the old stained concrete at the base and makes sweeping easier, since dirt has nowhere to hide in a raw joint.
Domino Evolution is a high-contrast mix of black, white and gray chips. It looks sharp next to the tan walls and white trim here, and it does a good job of hiding dust, drips and tire marks. If you are torn between colors, our guide to colors and finishes for Penntek floors lays out the options.
Typical epoxy often starts to show problems in years 3–5. Peeling near the door, yellowing, hot tire marks. A Penntek floor is built for up to 5x the lifespan of typical epoxy, a 30–40 year floor.
This home sits among tall trees, with the damp air and wet driveways that come with living near the Sammamish River valley. Tracked-in water and grit are a given from fall to spring. A sealed floor with a flake cove at the edges handles that better than bare concrete ever will. Not much. The black and white chips break up dust and light drips, so the floor looks clean between sweeps. Spills still need a wipe, and the non-porous topcoat makes that easy.
Yes. That is what happened here. Splitting the work means you only move one room of stuff at a time, and both floors still match.
Wipe it up with a rag and a mild cleaner. The oil sits on top of the topcoat instead of soaking into the concrete. Our post on removing stains from a coated floor has more tips.
